Posted on April 27, 2022April 27, 2022 by Anthony Maue

Undergraduate researcher Rachel Fry has received funding from the NAU/NASA Space Grant to work as an Undergraduate Research Intern for the 2022-2023 academic year. Working with graduate student Anna Baker and Professor Devon Burr, her project will focus on simulating the comminution of sand during aeolian transport on Mars. This project will culminate in a presentation at the Arizona NASA Space Grant Statewide Symposium in April 2023.

The NAU/NASA Space Grant Undergraduate Research Internship Program is designed to support and encourage undergraduates to pursue and gain experience in space-related research, including aerospace engineering, astrophysics, astronomy, and planetary science.

Rachel is currently a junior Astrophysics major with a minor in Astrogeology and intends to pursue a graduate degree in Planetary Science.

Congratulations to Rachel for her success toward pursuing this interesting research!
