REU student Eleanor Serviss presented an E-poster on her research this week at the 53rd Annual Meeting of the AAS Division for Planetary Sciences. Eleanor worked with graduate student Tony Maue and Professor Devon Burr in the summer of 2021 as part of NAU’s Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) in Astronomy & Planetary Science program. Her project, mapping and analyzing the radar backscatter of fluvial features on Saturn’s moon Titan, included the discovery of an interesting, crater-like form, not yet included in Titan’s catalogue of Craters. Eleanor’s study of this potential crater and its possible history as a methane lake were presented in her poster titled Are You A Crater? A Potential Open-Basin Crater Lake Crosscut by Radar-Bright Fluvial Features on Titan.
