This fall, former NAU REU student Eleanor Serviss will begin a two-year Masters program in Geoscience at the University of Montana in Missoula. At UM, Eleanor will be advised by Professor Hilary Martens to do work on seismology and solid tides, with the goal of studying planetary formation and evolution.
Eleanor worked with graduate student Tony Maue and Professor Devon Burr in the summer of 2021 as a part of NAU’s Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) in Astronomy & Planetary Science program. Her project involved mapping and analysis of radar-bright fluvial features on Saturn’s moon Titan using JMARS and Python, and culminated in a poster presentation at the 53rd Annual Meeting of the AAS Division for Planetary Sciences.
We wish Eleanor all the best in her exciting next step!
